22/12/2020. WORKPLACE FIRST AID COURSES CAN CONTINUE HOWEVER EMPLOYERS AND BUSINESS OWNERS ARE REQUIRED TO CAREFULLY CONSIDER IF TRAINING CAN SAFELY BE POSTPONED .
Following discussions with relevant venues & insurers all currently scheduled First Aid courses will go ahead. First Aid training is necessary education to meet employers legal requirements however under the current situation postponement should be considered particularly in Teir 4 regions.

Numbers on courses are restricted to the number of candidates that can safely be accommodated using the social distancing guidelines. Those that work in close groups or are household family members can still work in their groups on a course. Individuals and groups will be kept 2 metres apart during training. Training venues are thoroughly cleaned both before and after every course by ourselves regardless of any cleaning done by the venue. Tables chairs and all hand touch areas are cleaned. When carrying out CPR practise manikins are thoroughly cleaned before and after every candidate. Adult and junior manikins have one way valves so lungs and faces are changed for new between each course. Baby manikins do not have one way valves so they have a face and lung change after every candidate. CPR face shields are provided as is sanitiser for every individual. you may use your own sanitiser if it states it is at least 70% alcohol. Some activities involve sanitising hands and wearing a face mask but these are kept brief and to a minimum. Hands must be washed or sanitised regularly during the course. At the beginning of the course we are required to ask you Covid 19 specific questions and to take temperatures. Those with a temperature of 37.8 will be sent home as will anyone who answers yes to any of the questions.
